Aim-listed Botswana Minerals has appointed David Cockbill to the board as nonexecutive director.

In a statement to shareholders, Botswana Minerals says Cockbill is an experienced corporate financier and public capital markets executive.

He studied accountancy at Manchester University before beginning a 35-year career in the city of London with various leading investment banks such as HSBC and Société Générale, including periods with ING and Dresdner as a proprietary trader.

The company notes that Cockbill has been a Financial Conduct Authority-regulated person since 2021, focusing on opportunities within the micro-cap sector and raising capital for public companies in the natural resources and technology sectors.
